Researchers developed an improved method for chemically synthesizing thymosin alpha-1, a 28-amino acid peptide used to treat hepatitis B and C. By anchoring the peptide's side chain to a specialized resin support, they overcame the challenges posed by its difficult sequence and enabled a straightforward, scalable manufacturing process.
