Thymosin alpha-1 treatment significantly protected mice from streptozotocin-induced diabetes by preserving pancreatic beta cells and maintaining insulin production. The peptide reduced blood sugar levels, doubled serum insulin compared to untreated diabetic mice, and lessened pancreatic tissue damage, partly by boosting the organ's antioxidant defenses and reducing oxidative stress.
