Epithalamin restored immune and endocrine circadian rhythms in elderly patients with chronic coronary disease, where these rhythms were otherwise inverted or flattened compared to young people. After 6 courses of treatment, T-cell counts improved and the seasonal rhythms of thymic serum factor and hydrocortisone were preserved, corresponding to a more benign clinical course of the disease.
