Thymosin alpha-1 significantly improved outcomes in rats with severe acute pancreatitis by rebalancing immune cell populations and reducing inflammatory cytokine levels. The treatment lowered pancreatic inflammation markers, restored the balance of CD4 and CD8 T cells, and improved survival rates, suggesting it could help manage the dangerous immune dysregulation that accompanies severe pancreatitis.
