Researchers mapped the molecular signaling pathways activated by thymosin alpha-1 in immune cells and found it triggers production of key cytokines (IL-6, IL-10, IL-12) through the IKK and MAPK pathways. The study identified specific signaling molecules, including TRAF6 and IRAK4, as critical mediators, with IRAK4 loss largely blocking the immune response to the peptide.
