Researchers developed a sensitive radioimmunoassay for measuring growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) in blood plasma using an antibody against a synthetic GHRH fragment. The assay successfully detected elevated GHRH levels in patients with chronic kidney failure on dialysis and extremely high levels in a patient with ectopic GHRH-producing tumor, demonstrating its clinical utility for diagnosing GHRH-related disorders.
