Thymosin alpha-1 was shown to activate a key immune tolerance pathway (IDO/tryptophan catabolism) in dendritic cells through TLR9 signaling, enabling it to simultaneously promote protective immunity and prevent excessive inflammation. This dual capability, generating both antifungal immune defense and regulatory T cells, makes thymosin alpha-1 uniquely suited for balancing inflammation and tolerance in clinical settings.
