Treating pregnant ewes with sermorelin (GRF(1-29)) during late gestation increased the mother's growth hormone and IGF-I levels and enhanced the sensitivity of both maternal and fetal pituitary cells to further GRF stimulation. Fetuses from treated ewes showed elevated IGF-II levels, supporting the idea that GRF treatment during late pregnancy could potentially promote accelerated fetal growth.
