A long-acting form of GHRH created by attaching polyethylene glycol (PEG-GHRH) successfully stimulated growth hormone release in both young and elderly subjects, with effects lasting much longer than standard GHRH. The treatment was generally well tolerated, though some glucose tolerance impairment was seen in elderly participants with repeated dosing, and it offers the potential for less frequent dosing compared to conventional GHRH therapy.
