Thymosin alpha-1 treatment significantly reduced liver damage in rats fed a high-fructose diet that causes fatty liver disease, restoring antioxidant enzyme levels and reducing harmful lipid peroxidation to near-normal values. The treatment also controlled inflammatory cytokines and protected most liver cells from the fat accumulation seen in untreated animals, suggesting a potential role in managing non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
