Scientists found that a growth hormone-releasing factor analog decreased long-form leptin receptor expression in pig pituitary cells within just four hours of treatment. At the same time, GRF increased growth hormone secretion in a dose-dependent manner. This suggests that GRF directly modulates how sensitive the pituitary is to the appetite-regulating hormone leptin, revealing a previously unknown link between growth hormone regulation and energy balance signaling.
