Epitalon inhibited the growth of transplanted sarcoma M-1 in rats at a dose of 2.5 micrograms/kg, with the tumor-suppressing effect lasting two weeks after the injection course ended. The mechanism involved disruption of tumor blood flow, leading to hemorrhagic necrosis and increased apoptosis of tumor cells rather than direct cytostatic action.
